Budget: Lalong proposes N145bn for 2018

   Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has presented the 2018 budget estimate of N145, 488,066,352 billion to the state’s House of Assembly, with a promise to continually accord priority to the welfare of civil servants through timely promotions and payments of salaries and allowances. He also promised to ensure prompt payment of pensions and gratuities of retirees and the release of running cost to Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs.
   Governor Lalong said the document, tagged “Budget of Rescue and Consolidation,” was meant to consolidate on the gains and achievements of his administration since the beginning of his tenure.
He said: “The increase is due to rise in recurrent expenditure, the country going out of recession and the hope that our economy is getting better, thereby improving the internally-generated revenue, IGR.”
