Manchester United prepare £20m offer for Manchester City and Arsenal target Jonny Evans

Jose Mourinho wants to bring Jonny Evans back to Manchester United – and is willing to spend £20million to beat Manchester City and Arsenal to his signature. Northern Ireland international Evans came through United’s academy over a decade ago before going on to play almost 200 games for the club’s first-team.
Evans was a regular for United for the best part of ten years and helped the club win three Premier League titles. He was surprisingly sold to West Brom in 2015 for just £8m while Louis van Gaal was in charge. Evans’ future at the Hawthorns has been the subject of much speculation and the 29-year-old could be on the move during the January transfer window. Relegation-battlers West Brom are desperate to retain his services and have put a new £100,000-a-week contract on the table. But the Daily Mirror say the Baggies know they will be forced to listen to offers unless he puts pen to paper on a new deal imminently.
Man City and Arsenal both expressed interest in signing Evans last summer and, at the time, West Brom slapped a £30m price tag on his head. But now United have joined the race to secure his signature, with Mourinho hoping to seal a deal to bring Evans back to the Theatre of Dreams.
